WR Forklift launches 41-model product range with full online specifications

Every model in the range — from hand pallet trucks to 12-metre three-way AGV forklifts — now has a published specification sheet, so buyers can compare capacity, lift height and battery options before they enquire.

The new product centre covers nine families: pallet trucks, stackers, forklifts, special application trucks, AGV, lifting and loading equipment, order pickers, drum trucks, and customised / accessory lines. Each model page lists rated load, load centre, lift height, fork dimensions, motor ratings, battery options and service weight, along with the applications the truck is designed for.

  • 41 models across 9 families
  • Full technical data published per model
  • Customisation options stated for each product

How to choose between a stacker, a reach truck and a counterbalance forklift

These three machine types overlap in capacity but solve completely different problems. Choosing the wrong one is the most expensive mistake in warehouse planning — it shows up as aisle width you cannot use or a truck that cannot reach the top beam.

A stacker lifts a pallet vertically and is designed for put-away and retrieval where the pallet can be approached from the open face. A reach truck adds a moving mast, so it can place a pallet deep into racking from a narrow aisle. A counterbalance forklift carries the load outside the wheelbase, which means it can pick a pallet off the floor or a truck bed without outriggers — at the cost of a much larger turning circle.

  • Stacker: shortest aisle, closed pallet face required
  • Reach truck: narrow aisle plus deep racking
  • Counterbalance: truck loading, no outriggers, larger footprint

Lithium or lead-acid? The real cost comparison for electric warehouse trucks

Lithium batteries cost roughly twice as much up front. Whether that pays back depends almost entirely on how many shifts you run and whether opportunity charging is possible in your building.

On a single-shift operation with a dedicated charging room, lead-acid is usually still the cheaper choice over five years. On multi-shift operation, lithium wins: no battery room, no watering, no equalising charge, and opportunity charging during breaks keeps the truck available. Add the cost of a spare lead-acid battery set and the comparison usually flips before the second shift.

  • Single shift + battery room: lead-acid still competitive
  • Multi-shift: lithium usually pays back within 2 years
  • Lithium removes the battery room and watering labour

Explosion-proof forklifts: what Zone 1 really requires

A truck described as "explosion-proof" without a marking code is not explosion-proof. The marking tells you the equipment group, the gas or dust subdivision, the temperature class and the zone it may be used in.

For a Zone 1 gas atmosphere with IIB gases and a T4 temperature class, the marking reads Ex db ib mb sb IIB T4 Gb. Each element matters: db is flameproof enclosure, ib is intrinsic safety, mb is encapsulation, sb is a special construction. Equipment certified only for Zone 2 must not be used in Zone 1, and dust environments need the separate III group marking. Always ask for the certificate, not just the label.

  • Read the full marking code, not the marketing term
  • Zone 1 and Zone 2 equipment are not interchangeable
  • Dust atmospheres require separate III group certification

Cold-chain truck range extended to −40 °C operation

The cold-chain series now covers deep-freeze applications down to −40 °C with heated battery compartments, cold-grade hydraulic oil and IP67 sealed drive systems.

Standard electric trucks lose most of their usable battery capacity below −20 °C and suffer condensation faults when they move between the freezer and an unheated dock. The cold-chain range addresses this with a heated LiFePO4 battery compartment, sealed three-electric system, rust-proof frame treatment and hydraulic oil specified for sub-zero viscosity.

  • Stackers, reach trucks and counterbalance forklifts available
  • Heated battery compartment and IP67 sealing
  • Rust-proof treatment for condensation cycles

AGV range expanded with omni-directional and reach models

The AGV line now covers pallet trucks, stacking trucks and forward-moving reach forklifts, with magnetic or laser SLAM navigation and fleet scheduling.

Omni-directional AGV forklifts can travel sideways as well as forwards, which allows them to work in aisles that a conventional AGV cannot enter. The reach AGV models extend the range to high-bay racking up to 12 m, opening unmanned operation to dense storage warehouses rather than only floor-level transport.

  • Pallet, stacker and reach AGV configurations
  • Magnetic or laser SLAM navigation
  • Fleet management software with MES integration
